Good riddance….
Someone who reached the final of a major tournament hasn’t gotten a job yet after four months? That is to say that he is not good.
This coach did well for Nigeria. Let’s be grateful for the Afcon silver. If he comes back to the Super Eagles it will be good.
The man is already gone. My own is why hasn’t a new coach been appointed? How long does it take to appoint a coach! This Gusau , Enoh combo does not augur well for Nigeria. This is the same unnecessary delay that led them to appointing Finidi.
Get the coach in early so he can have ample time to prepare for the afcon qualifiers. I perceive that they will dilly dally till 2 weeks to the games and then be forced to make incompetent appointments.
Why are you like this Golden child na? Do you realize how much salary has been saved each month for not paying a substantive coach all the while? Do you think NFF can’t wait to get rid of Falcons Waldrum who hasn’t really worked for his monthly paycheck since the 2023 world cup as no serious tournament football have occurred since then until this Olympics? Glasshouse expects you lot to be grateful for having funds not wasted for non friendly windows on several coaches salaries.
Are you not aware the billions to settle outstanding issues is yet to be disbursed? That needs meticulous planning and thorough vetting. Qualifiers are still several weeks away to have idle coaches earn monies on a platter moreso hard currency.
Cut NFF some slack. It might seem they are idle but several new coaches need pruning on their illustrious CVs and we really want the best now for Eagles.
Why employ a coach who will not even interact with players until a week to qualifiers as we don’t want to waste funds to groom home based eagles first who will ultimately give way to the godfather-backed foreign pros
I forgot to add this: coaches of our other group opponents in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers are currently idle. No cap. No team to build or keep perpetually in camp. Players are on hold. Simply put, let NFF be. One who is down needs fear no fall. Golden child, NFF is on top of the situation. Forget the fact NFF staff salaries are never owed. They are constantly working for Nigeria
So if I’m reading you correctly, the coach doesn’t work unless he’s physically in touch with the players in camp? Are you saying we should employ a totally new coach a week or two before camp? How the would he get to study players scattered around the world to invite? I’m not sure, but I think Waldrum has some kind of pay-as-you-go deal with NFF. In my opinion, the NFF is already late in appointing a coach. Moreover, in every contract there’s a “start date”. If you want to save money, appoint a coach now with an August start date. At least let the person start prepping for his new role.
@onwajunior, no offence . I am not a literature teacher, but grab a dictionary and look for the word “satire.
@Kanga thanks. Can now see it clearly.
@Sly kpele!!!
Water ultimately finds its level…
@Sly Na over sense de kill Nigeria. So us that the loophole that Nigeria is using to owe coaches?…that coaches are not working because players are not in camp. Why is Nigeria’s case always different? Why do we think that we need to create new contract conditions than what generally obtains round the world? That’s why we are stuck in the same merry go round
They are so backward. They always think that the World own them a living. They will never learn. Most of them are even suggesting that the stupid and inapt NFF should go tender an apology to rookie Finito, to come back to take the reins of coaching the National team once more. Or to bring in the ‘FIFA sanctioned Siasia’ or to bring in any of those failed jobless and unemployed lay-about individual ex-player, to come and manage the National team.
My friends, the Nigeria football has gone to the dogs now. By taking prides in the past, not paying salaries as when due, to most foreign coaches, has come back to hurt them going forward, in getting quality and qualified foreign manager today.
