Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi will look to start his time with West Bromwich Albion on a positive note when they take on Nottingham Forest in their Skybet Championship opening day clash at the City Ground today (Saturday), reports Compleetesports.com.
Ajayi linked up with the Baggies from Rotherham United last month and had an impressive pre-season campaign with the club.
The 25-year-old scored seven goals in 46 league appearances for Rotherham United last season and more will be expected from the versatile defender at his new club.
Ajayi will also look to become a key figure in Slaven Bilic’s men’s push for promotion to the Premier League after the disappointment of the last campaign.
Nottingham Forest are also expected to parade their Nigerian-born winger, Sammy Ameobi in the game.
Ameobi linked up with Nottingham Forest from cash-strapped Bolton Wanderers earlier in the summer.
