Former Aston Villa star, Gabriel Agbonlahor has told Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel to consider himself lucky because he would have been sacked if Roman Abramovich was still the owner of the London club.
According to the former Premier League star, Tuchel would have been sacked if the Russian was still the Chelsea owner.
This as the Blues faltered again in the Premier League when they fell 2-1 to Southampton on Tuesday night.
The Blues have spent £168million already and it looks as though Chelsea have major problems with their squad.
Their new American owner Todd Boehly seems to have patience with the German boss, and there was even talk of him getting a new contract.
This is a very different approach from that of Abramovich, who was notoriously short of patience regarding managers.
“Thomas Tuchel has got to be under pressure,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT. “Chelsea are used to winning Premier League titles; now they are going to be looking at a fight for top four.
“Arsenal are looking very good, Spurs are looking very good. Chelsea could finish fifth this season.
“That is unacceptable with the amount of money they have spent.
“The previous owner of Chelsea would have sacked him by now for last season’s Premier League finish.
“The amount of points they finished behind Man City and Liverpool and this season looks like it will go the same way.”
