Team Nigeria will begin preparation for the World Youth Scrabble Championship in Sri Lanka in Abuja on Friday,reports Completesports.com.
Head coach Samuel Eromosele stated in a statement released by the Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) Youth Wings media team that preparation is in top gear ahead of the tournament.

“We thank God, we have cleared the visa issuance of the players and will resume camp in Abuja on Friday,” Coach Eromosele said.
He named Sufyan Boluwatife as the team captain, emphasizing priority on players’ welfare.
Coach Eromosele thanked the Nigeria Scrabble Federation’s president, Toke Aka and the board members for their support towards the team, assuring that Nigeria will rake medals at the tournament.
“The NSF has been supportive, ensuring that all our needs are taken care of. We are grateful to them and all members in the scrabble community,” he added.
The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) has selected a 12-player squad to represent the nation in Sri Lanka, comprising eight boys and four girls.
Notable players include Prestige Archibong, the winner of the African Youth Scrabble Championship (WASC U-15); Ese Ejenakevbe; Sufyan Boluwatife; and nine-year-old scrabble prodigy Saviour Onazi. At 17, Boluwatife is the oldest member of the team, while Onazi is the youngest.
The female contingent includes Joy Nwabuzor, Hauwa Abdullahi, Sophia Ekeruche, and Michelle Ikekeregor, who will all compete under Nigeria’s banner.
With the championship fast approaching, Team Nigeria is poised to make a significant impact on the global stage.
