Premiership strugglers Worcester Warriors have been boosted by the news captain Gerrit-Jan van Velze is closing on a return to action.
Van Velze has been missing for almost two months after fracturing his arm in the defeat against Harlequins back in February, and his presence in the side has been sorely missed.
Worcester Boss Alan Solomons has revealed the player is back in training and could be ready for the final three fixtures of the season, starting with home clash against Gloucester on April 28.

The Warriors are just three points above the drop zone, so his return could not be better timed. “Ashley has been training but I don’t think he will play this season to be honest,” Solomons said. “I think GJ will be available to play.
Ollie has just had his operation but there is no chance for him. “I don’t think any of the long-term (injured) guys will come back before the end of the season other than Shilly and certainly GJ.
After this block GJ should be good to go. He has been training hard.”
