Wolves appear to have won the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Under-19 captain Raphael Nya on a reported three-year deal. The 19-year-old versatile defender, who is primarily a right-back, was on a trainee contract with the French Ligue 1 champions and was handed the armband for their UEFA Youth League last term.

Nya has been backed to have a bright future in football by PSG’s youth manager Thiago Motta and he subsequently alerted Wolves scouts over the past season. The youngster was recently mooted to pen a three-year deal at Molineux and French journalist Benjamin Quarez has now posted a picture of Nya signing a Wolves contract in one of the club’s training tops.
It is likely that Wolves’ boss Nuno Espirito Santo will initially pitch Nya into the Under-23s ranks, although he will no doubt be given every opportunity to force his way into the first-team set-up in the coming campaign with Premier League and Europa League football on the agenda.
