Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell has paid tribute to Kortney Hause after his departure to Aston Villa. Hause, 23, has penned a permanent deal at Villa Park after spending the second half of last season on loan with Dean Smith’s side.
He made 12 appearances for the Villans, helping them achieve promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs and will now have a chance to develop his game in the top tier of English football. Having signed for Wolves from Wycombe Wanderers in 2014, Hause made 80 appearances in all competitions for the black and gold but only spent two seasons as a regular member of the first team.
Nevertheless, Thelwell was full of praise for the Londoner and wished him well for the short trip to Birmingham. “On behalf of everyone at Wolves I would like to thank Kortney for all of his efforts both on and off the pitch during the past five years,” he told the club’s website. “Kortney has been a tremendous servant to this club, providing a solid backbone to our defence in the Championship where he helped lay the foundations for Wolves’ rise to where we are today.”
