Otavio has penned a contract that ties him to Wolfsburg until 2023 and VfL sporting director Marcel Schafer believes he will be a fine addition to the club’s ranks ahead of the 2019-20 campaign. “Paulo is a player with a lot of speed who puts in a shift and has plenty of other qualities besides, the like of which we need on the left side of defence,” he said on the club’s website.
“He has steadily developed over the past three years at Linz and Ingolstadt, and has everything he needs to take the next step in his career with us. He will also be a very good fit in the team in terms of his personality.” Otavio becomes Wolfsburg’s third signing of the summer following earlier the captures of Kevin Mbabu and Joao Victor.
