Mercedes chief Toto Wolff says Lewis Hamilton is happy, settled and successful off the track – which means he’s thriving on it.
The Briton claimed his fifth Formula 1 world title in 2018 as he dominated his rivals throughout the year.
Wolff paid tribute to the Mercedes star and believes the fact that he’s doing well in other aspects of his life – like in launching a successful partnership with fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger – fuels his ability to win races.

“I think that what is happening is that he constantly develops, there is no stand still,” Wolff told Motorsport.com.
“He is improving in every area. He is improving on track, he is improving off track, and his partnership with Tommy Hilfiger is very successful. It is one of the best performing fashion collections from the Hilfiger brand.
“So he is building up a second pillar of activity that is more than a hobby already, and therefore that has added another building block to making him a complete sportsman. It makes him happy. And if you are happy then you perform well.”
