Borussia Monchengladbach are in the box seat to sign Alexis Claude-Maurice after the winger revealed they would be his preferred choice. The 21-year-old winger is in demand following an impressive season with French outfit Lorient, where he fired home 14 goals in Ligue 2 as they just missed out on promotion.

A move away this summer seems inevitable, with both West Ham United and Arsenal keen to take him to the Premier League but the player seems to have set his heart on Gladbach. Whether a deal can be agreed remains to be seen, but the winger is keeping his fingers crossed for a move to the Bundesliga outfit.
“Now I feel like it’s time to leave, to join a club that is playing at a higher level,” he said. “I want to join Monchengladbach. It is a club that relies on young people, there is a good structure, the team will play in the Europa League. This project pleases me and suits me.”
