Following his defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinal of the ongoing Wimbledon 2024, Daniel Medvedev has described the opponent as a tough player to play agaist, Completesports.com reports.
Alcaraz defeated fifth-ranked Medvedev 3-1 (5-6, 6-3, 6-4 and 6-4) on Friday, July 9 to raise his hopes of successfully defending his title in the final.
Medvedev’s failure at the semifinal of the ongoing Wimbledon 2024 was his second straight defeat to Alcaraz in the knockout stages.

In a post match interview, Medvedev admitted that the semifinal match was daunting, saying that Alcaraz played much better than all the opponents he faced earlier.
“He’s tough to play,” Medvedev told ATPtour.
“I felt like I was serving good, definitely not worse than the other matches. Only five aces. He seemed to touch almost every ball on the court, like running well. I made some good points. I could have finished some, maybe on the net, but didn’t manage to do it.
“In my opinion, he played much better than all the opponents I faced here before, and hence I lost. Not much more to add,” Medvedev concluded.
