Carlos Alcaraz defeated fifth-ranked Danlil Medvedev on Friday, July 9 in the semifinal of the ongoing Wimbledon 2024, raising hopes of successfully defending his title in the final.
The much anticipated clash saw the dexterity of the titans of the court as Medvedev edged Alcaraz 6-5 in the first set, igniting a glimpse of hope.

But his enthusiasm in the first set was short-lived as Alcaraz won 6-3, 6-4 and 6-4 in the second, third and fourth rounds, dashing the hopes of Medvedev to continue in the tournament.
The victory earns Alcaraz his second successive Wimbledon final, putting him just one more victory from retaining the title.
