Wigan Warriors prop forward Taulima Tautai has been left out of their squad to face the Leeds Rhinos on Friday after picking up a drink driving ban. The 31-year-old failed a roadside breath test in May, hours after turning out for the side against Warrington, and has now been banned for 18 months by Wigan magistrates.

He becomes the third Warriors player to have failed a breath test in the past eight months and coach Adrian Lam has chosen to leave him out of his side to face the Rhinos at Headingley on Friday. Lam told the BBC: “It’s unacceptable and we’ll deal with it accordingly.
“He has got a lot on his mind and this is one of the biggest games of the season for us in regards to where we sit on the ladder. “Rather than have that as a hassle for him and for the team, I felt it was best that we move forward and we prepare without him.”
