Heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua says the world title clash with Tyson Fury must hold because it’s bigger than boxing, bigger than the belts.
In an interview with Sky Sports News, Joshua blamed Tyson’s team for their proposed fight to break down.
Recall that a court arbitration in the US ruled that Fury must fight Deontay Wilder causing the collapse of the fight between Fury and Joshua.
Fury and Wilder will now clash on July 24 in Las Vegas in a third WBC heavyweight title fight while Joshua will defend his IBF, WBA and WBO gold against mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk in late September at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
However, Joshua insisted that Usyk doesn’t determine the Fury fight and that he can’t wait any longer to face him.
“Unfortunately his (Fury) team let the whole boxing world down.”

He said about fighting Fury in the future: “I will still be here, still ready to put on a show.
“End of the year. Let me get past Usyk first. But with or without Usyk in my life, I will fight Fury.
“Usyk isn’t the be-all and end-all.
“Usyk doesn’t determine the Fury fight. The Fury fight has to happen. It’s a big fight, bigger than boxing, bigger than the belts.
“It will happen. After the Usyk fight, after I defend my belts.
“The fight will be bigger, better than what it would have been.”

I know without any doubt that Joshua is going to annihilate that ‘big mouth’ Fury and I want it to be so ..he must be brutalised for his insults and disrespect…
That is the fight i want to tell but i doubt if it will ever happen because Joshua has a rematch clause with Usyk, and am seeing Wilder defeating Fury on their Trilogy Fight this year…
The rematch will only hold if Joshua loses. If he wins, there won’t be any rematch
That fight will never happen. That is the politics invilve in the game of boxing. The organization that owns each belt will never allow all the belt to be in the hand of one man, because having multiple champion for each belt mean multiple challengers and more money to be cashed in on pay per view.
I just pray it happens,i will prefer Aj to face Wilder instead,He will knock wilder out before round 10,but Fury is a class on his own…….for Fury to get up after taking Wilder Punch in the first fight says alot about him…
