Fulham manager Marco Silva has explained why Alex Iwobi and two other players were withdrawn early in Tuesday’s game at Nottingham Forest.
Iwobi, Harry Wilson, Sasa Lukic were taken off in the 33rd minute with Fulham down 2-0.
The triple substitutions did not make any positive impact as Forest scored in first half stoppage time.
The substitution was the second-quickest in Premier League history.
Speaking on the remarkable triple first-half change, Silva said: “It’s important to say, when I made the triple change, it wasn’t the fault of Harry Wilson, Sasa Lukic and Alex Iwobi at all.
“In that moment, the team needed much more changes than just three. As a collective, we were not there. It was a tactical change. We needed Tom Cairney and Willian to at least have the ball.”
Fulham is in 13th position after 31 games in the league table.
