The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) insists Tosin Adarabioyo must reach out to them if he is willing to play for the Super Eagles.
Adarabioyo, who moved to Premier League giants Chelsea in the summer is reportedly willing to change international allegiance.
The tall centre-back has represented England at youth level but is still eligible to play for Nigeria.
The 27-year-old turned down the chance to represent Nigeria in the past claiming he was not ready.

The centre-back was approached by former Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro last year but stood his ground.
The NFF has now declared that he would need to make a formal move to be considered.
“Jose Peseiro travelled to meet with him (Adarabioyo) in the UK last year to speak to him about playing for Nigeria, but he told the coach at that time that he was not ready,” an NFF source told ESPN.
“If he wants to make the switch now he knows what to do.”

Nigeria don’t need him
Have to say I agree with NFF ONIGBESE on this one. The ball is in his court.
You and this your “onigbese” title for the NFF. So funny…
