West Ham’s hopes of offloading striker Jordan Hugill to Middlesbrough on a permanent basis at the end of the season are over.
Boro are pushing for promotion back to the Premier League but their boss Tony Pulis has cooled his interest in the 26-year-old, who has netted seven goals in 30 games for the Teessiders this season.

That form has not been good enough to secure a permanent deal, meaning he will return to the London Stadium and resume his career with West Ham.
David Moyes paid Preston North End a fee in the region of £10m for the striker in January 2018 but he hardly featured, playing just 22 minutes for the side before moving on loan to Boro last summer.
