West Bromwich Albion manager Carlos Corberán has heaped plaudits on Josh Maja following the striker’s superb display in Saturday’s win at Queen Park Rangers.
The Baggies trailed after 16 minutes at the MATRADE Loftus Road, but rallied to win the game 3-1.
Maja scored all three goals for the visitors.
The Nigerian entered the history books as the first Albion player to score three goals in the opening game of a league season since Alf Bentley in the 1913/14 season.

Corberan praised the striker for his remarkable effort in the game.
“Josh Maja has had a very good level of impact on the game because it is not easy to score three goals, and all three had a lot of quality,” Corberan told the club’s official website.
“But with Josh Maja, after one season without playing many games, we have to manage his minutes well and this is one of the positions we need to strengthen because we need to protect every single player.”
“I think if you wait for the results to get the confidence, you are never going to win football games.
“You need to believe in your commitment, your fighting mentality and your work to win football games.”
