Legendary Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has tipped Liverpool as the super favourites to win this season’s Premier League title.
Wenger subtly admitted that the Gunners have little chance of winning their first English league title since 2004, as the London club still trails Liverpool by seven points in the league table.
“Look it’s simple as they [the other presenters] said,” Wenger told BeIn Sports. “They need to lose games. But now we have played 25 games and Liverpool have lost one. They will have to lose at least three in the next thirteen games. So at this moment it looks unlikely unless they collapse. But until now they have lost only one game.
“So they are the super favourites. On top of that Arsenal have to make another perfect run. So I pray, but I have to improve the quality of my praying.”
Next up the Gunners face West Ham in the Premier League at the Emirates, ahead of a tough trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest four days later.
Despite a depleted forwardline the Gunners edged out Leicester 2-0 at the weekend.
Two late goals from Mikel Merino secured the hard-fought win for the team.
