Angola forward, Gelson Dala has warned the Super Eagles to brace up for a difficult test in Friday’s quarter-final clash at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The encounter is slated for the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.
Jose Peseiro’s side face a tough task against the free scoring Angolans, who have netted nine times in the competition.

The Palancas Negras have also only conceded thrice in four games.
Dala has scored four goals for Pedro Goncalves’ side.
“We will fight and make life hard for them. With our fans, we believe we can win,” he told CAFonline.
The game will kick-off at 5pm Cote d’Ivoire time (6pm Nigeria time).

No need boasting or talking much lets do it by 6pm. Super Eagles will beat Angola this evening no hiding place for you guys.
The Mourinho style of play favour nigeria
Ok, today Nigeria will win against all odds.
He should be asking Toto Ekambi of Cameroon.
Ivory Coast and Cameroon said the same.
Kenyans behind the Super eagles, give ineanacho a role in this game
He doesn’t defend without the ball. Our current formation doesn’t suit his style of football
I agree with you, Angola. The name “Angola” in football is not that big or fancy, but in terms of quality football and never say, never nobody can rule out Angola when we are talking about African football.
I said it after Cameroon match that Angola is always tough to beat. Super Eagles never have it easy to beat Angola.
Angola is not new to Nigerians most especially if you have been following Nigeria football for a while.
Thus same Angola stopped Nigeria from going to the World Cup.
Orkwuaraji died during encounter with Angola. Super Eagles should not underrated Angola if they must play far in this tournament. Our players should be humble more than never before against Angola.
I would rather prefer South Africa, Senegal, Cameroon, or Ivory Coast to Angola because they play quality football.
Super Eagles need to respond well and respect Angola. Coach Paseiro should not use Uzoho in today’s match. If he does, Angola target is Uzoho.
The strength of the Angolan team is shooting, which is Uzoho weakness.
If I were coach Paseiro, I would rather use an unknown Ojo Olorunleke who is far better than Uzoho. This is my only concern in today’s match.
Additionally, Saidu is trying, but he should be replaced. The other guy, Oyemichi or something I don’t know if I’m getting his name right, should play.
Nigeria will win but won’t be an easy game for Eagles. Good luck to our darling Super Eagles. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Omo9ja – how far? So even after Pajero confirmed that he will play Nwabali (who you discovered haha) , and even after dem release team list of who dey play, you still dey advise oga Pajero make he no start with Calamity Frank aka UzohodaBasket ba? hehe
But anyway, I thank God that both Nwabs and Alhassan are both starting in this game – my only warning and I warned oga Pajero already is that he must warn Iwobi to be strong and not be pulling out of any 50/50 challenges – in fact he must play an aggressive game today otherwise he should start from the bench, however oga PJ has decided to start Iwobs so we must hope and pray and if by half time they see that our midfield is being overrun then they must remove him and put another strong tackler in there as for Nacho, he can come in later and get game time, replacing Simon or maybe he can even replace Iwobi but must be under “special” instructions and he and the the wingers must work in tandem a covering themselves and making sure that at no time is our midfield overrun – Finally, the back line must be very strong in this game and be ready to adopt a you no go pass by any means necessary attitude today without committing any reckless fouls.
It’s not that Angola are too much, it’s just that our previous history has been fraught and we must ensure that we put a stop to that today and take the bull by the horn and regain out rightful upper hand in any future encounters going forward.
Here’s to a fine win today! Up the Super Eagles!!
**EDIT**
Chai! I just realised that it’s not Alhassan in the starting line-up but Zaidu! Chai chai chai! – Ah1 that no make sense o!
Oga Pajenro- you wan start again abi? Hmm God help us o! Holy Spirit, take over Zaidu’s body and brain today so that he won’t be a short 1 to the team o!
Chaii!
@Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob, well said. Unto the next one.
My wish came through. I was telling someone that I prefer South Africa to Cape Verde, and now we have
South Africa.
Another advice to Oga Paseiro and his troops agin. Eagles must not make mistakes Cape Verde made against South Africa.
Super Eagles must take their chances if Nigeria have to be at this year Afcon final. South Africa is not clinical in front of the goal, while Super Eagles is also in the same direction.
Cape Verde should have themselves to blame for not beaten South Africa.
South Africa was very lucky not to get beaten today but Super Eagles have to take the game to them from the start of the match and Eagles must not let the match enter penalties because South Africa golie is on fire. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Lots of respect to Angola football but nigeria SE will triumph today to THE GLORY AND PRAISE TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. A AAAAAAAWWUUUUURAAAA. VICTORY IS CERTAIN. THANKS BE TO GOD.
Amen! @Glory. All we need is Grace!!!
The moment u said with ‘our fans’ we will win, apparently removing God/divine grace from the picture, you have already lost the match even before kickoff. You have set the cart before the horse. God will now allow u and your fans to do the job yourselves. Most times in life, you’ll have no choice but to rely on hard work and Grace to succeed and the moment u remove any of the 2 (especially the latter) from the equation, u are certainly destined and headed for failure.
We are not heading out by his grace we will win
Amen @Chiago
I want to believe Paseiro has mapped out strategies for stifling the aerial threats of Mabulul and this Dala in particular, as well as cutting out the i8 yards cross-ins by Freddy. With these 3 rendered largely ineffective upfront, it should be smooth sailing for the Super Eagles.
On paper, Nigeria should be in the semis by 8 pm and there’ll be no upsets. I’m predicting a 3 -1 scoreline for Nigeria.
I am predicting 3:0.
I am so surprised at the apprehension that I am sensing in these my people, beg no shaking. Angola is no match at all for our dear SE.
I watched all their matches and I call confidently tell you guys that we shall beat them comfortably
No doubt we are going to win today’s game against Angola because l believe in the strength of our place and skills. May God help us Amen.
