Brighton are believed to be one of the clubs monitoring Bristol City defender Adam Webster’s situation at Ashton Gate. The 24-year-old has been attracting plenty of interest after an impressive season in the Championship with the Robins, who just missed out on a place in the playoffs.
Leicester City, Southampton, Watford, Newcastle United and Burnley have also linked with a move for Webster, while newly-promoted Aston Villa and Sheffield United are two others interested. Brighton are the latest Premier League side to be linked, as manager Graham Potter looks to bolster his ranks with bargain signings from the lower leagues.
Portsmouth’s Matt Clarke appears to be close to a move and Webster could be another fresh through the door at the Amex if they can tempt the Robins to allow the defender to leave Ashton Gate.
