Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes his side was the better team in their 2-2 draw with Liverpool at the Emirates on Sunday.
Arsenal were pegged back twice by the Reds to drop points in back-to-back games.
Bukayo Saka, who returned from injury gave the Gunners an early lead but Virgil van Dijk equalized few minutes later.
Summer signing Mikel Merino restored Arsenal’s lead before Mohamed Salah drew Arne Slot’s level again.
Commenting after the game Arteta hailed his team’s performance.
“I am very proud of the team,” he said. “The courage, the quality, the domination and playing how we wanted to play.
“I think we deserved to win the game. We were the better team but obviously we didnt and there are learning points that we need to take.”
The draw saw Arsenal now occupy third place on 18 points, five points behind leaders Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s injury woes continue as Gabriel and Julien Timber suffered knocks in the second half.
The North London club are still without Martin Odegaard and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
