Serie A champions Napoli have released an official statement on the controversial TikTok video involving their Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen was infuriated after a video was posted on the club’s TikTok account this week.
In the video, Osimhen was mocked for missing a penalty in the Partenopei’s 0-0 draw against Bologna last weekend.
Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda threatened to take legal action against Napoli following the incident.
The 24-year-old also took down all images of him in the Partenopei jersey on his social media accounts.
The Partenopei stated they didn’t mean any harm with the message.

“Calcio Napoli, wishing to avoid any exploitation of the issue, point out that we never wanted to offend or mock Victor Osimhen, who is a treasure of this club,” reads the statement.
“As proof of that, during the summer training retreat, the Club firmly rebuffed every offer that was received for the striker’s transfer abroad”.
“Social media, in particular TikTok, has always used an expressive form of language with a light heart and creativity, without wanting to, as in the case with Osimhen as protagonist, have any intention of insult or derision”.
“In any case, if Victor perceived any offence towards him, this was not what the club intended”.
Osimhen scored a goal and provided an assist in Napoli’s 4-1 win against Udinese on Wednesday night.
He has scored four goals in six league appearances for the Partenopei this season.
The striker was top scorer in Serie A last season with 26 goals in 32 appearances.

But you have not offered any apology nor explained what happened or how the tik tok was released or by who – you are not even claiming that your account was hacked.
Actions speak louder than words and Osimhen needs an advisor/manager who understands what is going on and is ready to speak up on his behalf and stand up for his rights both as a human being and also as that useless clubs most high profile and best footballer!
I will reserve any other comments I may have because there are some undesirable and mindless elements lurking and I have absolutely no time for any such trashy retards.
We are admonished not to bring our treasure among swine- I will keep mine close to me from now on because doing otherwise, I’ll only have myself to blame for allowing pigs to trample through gems.
Anyway – Osimhen, sorry o, but hopefully, if even you were ever in any doubt, this should have helped focus your mind and brought you back to earth with a loud bump! A word should be enough for the wise!
@Field Marshall The Club is too proud to apologize to a black man because no serious club will mock their star player for a penalty miss on their official page. Huh never will Madrid do that to CR or will Barca official page do a comic of Messi like that. If it were the fans we’ll understand but for the Club it’s a no no. The CEO sees Osigoal as money property and no affection which is sad. Let Osi leave to Chelsea or Madrid should the bid arrive in winter.
Thumbs up brotherman @Eligwe, you said it all. Pride is the issue for Napoli. The messed up.
Unfortunately, Napoli has already damaged their reputation. Nothing of such was done to Diego Maradona when he won them the title. But as far as they’re concerned Osimhen is an instrument they want to use and discard. Victor should rise above that.
Napoli haven’t done well in this matter, no wonder Italians are accused of being racist. I n I ask Will this have happened if Osimhen were a white man ? This is how man dem pot belly ex Ajax players chased Bassey out of the club. Babylon should be a place of peace and love. I n I be overdue for emancipation from psychological racism.

By not condemning this racist video Osimhen’s teammates are part of an internal conspiracy to humiliate him and push the guy out of the club
