Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo hopes Taiwo Awoniyi will avoid spending another spell on the sidelines.
Awoniyi sustained an unspecified injury in Forest’s 2-0 victory against West Ham United at the City Ground on Saturday.
The Nigeria international scored the Tricky Trees first goal of the encounter.
The 26-year-old was replaced by Belgium international Divock Origi in the second half.
Santo confirmed they will need to assess the forward properly to ascertain the level of the injury.

“We have to assess him (Awoniyi) and see how he is. We all know he has been struggling for a long time, and hadn’t played much,” Santo waa quoted by Derby Unifoot.
“We have pushed him, and he’s done more than he should have. We hope it’s nothing serious.”
Awoniyi has struggled to stay on his feet since his arrival at Forest.
He recently returned to action after undergoing surgery for a groin problem.
The striker has scored six goals in 14 league appearances for the Reds this season.

Ah! They should have managed him better! He is a bit injury prone and only God knows how much longer now before we can see him firing from all cylinders again! Chai!
Shame on you Nuno and Forest!
