William Troost-Ekong says the Super Eagles can’t afford to get complacent when they face Sudan in their second Group D game at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, reports Completesports.com.
The three-time champions put up a scintilating display in their first game in the competition, edging out Egypt 1-0.
Much is now expected from the Super Eagles in the competition and the Watford defender insisted they must keep up with the same momentum when they confront Sudan on Saturday (today) at the Stade Roumde Adjia, Garoua.
“Expect a fiery team, we raised the bar on how we should play in this tournament against Egypt” Troost-Ekong told NFF TV ahead of the game.

“The good thing about a competition like this is that we have time together, but our idea is to improve from the previous game.
“If there is anything we need to do from the Egypt game we focus on that, but what you see tomorrow (today) is the same philosophy.
“We will give our best out there. We want to see a performance full of passion.
“We want to come back after the game and say we gave our all on the pitch.”

I’m blown away by the fearless attitude our players currently portray. The confidence is so high. Can’t wait for AFCON to end so the I will see how they carry this attitude and playing style over to other big teams like Brazil, England Germany etc. All thanks to Egudiola and his backroom staff. Same personal different attitude and output. It’s so clear Rohr was responsible for the insipid and shaking displayed exhibited by SE all along
That’s the spirit we all want
Everyone can see the confidence in their words and actions…….The confidence this team has is so infectious and I wonder how Eguaveon was able to infect them with such confidence within a short time……The same team…..the same formation…..The same players……but different mentality…… This is the only way to explain what we are witnessing now.
Hoping he stays after the afcon cause am not sure about this new coach I did a check on his bio he isn’t what Nigeria needs
I noticed some posters on this platform have gone AWOL since the start of the competition. They are voices who stick by the book, propounding a lot theories on why SE will not do well in Cameroon. Their arguments are manly based on the sack of GR, the employment of an interim coach in person of Augustin Eguaveon and the unavailability of some of our super stars. They are probably waiting for the team to fail for them to storm to life again. That will not happen in this competition by God’s grace.
MONKEY POST is one of those people.
Amen
In Jesus name
I will need to see us play this evening before I come 100% assured what we portrayed against the Pharaohs of Egypt wasn’t a fluke.
Just need to double check this.
Let’s ROAR again this evening, SUPER EAGLES!!!!
Even GR started well, so it’s not ok to count the chicks before the eggs are hatched!!!
The finish line defines an Athlete , let’s encourage the interim coach while we allow Wisdom clears the pathway.
He also ended well..
Rohr age played a part. Let’s forget Rohr. He has moved on with his life.
