Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke says he knocked back an approach from one of Europe’s top clubs for Jadon Sancho. The 19-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City following some sensational appearances for BVB over the last two seasons.
Watzke has refused to name the club that made an approach but it is not hard to hazard a guess as not many could pay the kind of fee that Dortmund would demand.
However it did not get beyond a telephone conversation as Watzke told the club Sancho was not for sale, and that was the end of it. “A chief of one of the super clubs asked me if there was a chance,” Watzke said. “I told him he should forget about it and he never contacted me again.”
Sancho has three years remaining on his current deal, and Dortmund are in a very strong position to knock back all offers.
