Watford have enquired about Werder Bremen centre-back Milos Veljkovic, according to reports in Germany. The Serbian, who made 23 Bundesliga and four German cup appearances, was firmly established at the Bundesliga club until some indifferent performances midway through last season saw him lose his place in the side.

He was considered untouchable but Werder may be ready to listen to offers for the 23-year-old, who is under contract until 2022. Veljkovic was at Tottenham as a youngster and spent time on loan at Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic during his developmental years.
Bild claim Watford have enquired about the defender and also suggest Werder could look to Fortuna Dusseldorf’s Kaan Ayhan in as his replacement. Watford signed dependable Austrian Sebastian Prodl from Werder Bremen in 2015 but he might be looking for a move this summer after falling down the Hornets pecking order.
