Watford remain interested in Gaston Pereiro but they must wait for the PSV Eindhoven midfielder to make a decision over his future. Uruguay international Pereiro has entered the final 12 months of his contract with PSV and it seems likely he will leave the Dutch giants this summer, as he has no interest in extending that deal.
Watford are believed to be one of the clubs interested in signing Pereiro, who has scored 47 goals in 146 appearances for PSV, with some reports suggesting the Hornets initially made contact with the 24-year-old last month. AC Milan are also said to be monitoring Pereiro, who is valued at around £18million, but all interested parties are being made to wait, as the former Nacional player would not discuss his future while he was representing his country at the Copa America and he is now away on holiday.
Pereiro would be the second new arrival through the door at Vicarage Road if he were to join Watford, following in the footsteps of defender Craig Dawson, who joined from West Brom earlier this month.
