Golden Eaglets’ Edward Ochigbo was named Man of the Match in the 3-0 win against Togo in their final Group B game at the ongoing WAFU B U-17 tournament in Ghana on Thursday.
Despite not being among the scorers, Ochigbo was impressive as he helped the Eaglets’ record their second win of the tournament.
The team’s captain Simon Cletus won the Man of the Match awards against Burkina Faso and Niger Republic.
In Thursday’s game, the Eaglets took the lead in the 11th minute through Abdulmuiz Adeleke.
Rapha Adams doubled the Eaglets’lead in the 35th minute before Adeleke completed his brace to make it 3-0 on 57 minutes.
The Manu Garba-led side will now take on Côte d’Ivoire in the semi-finals on Saturday, 25 May. Hosts Ghana will face Burkina Faso in the semi-finals also on Saturday.
