Honestly speaking this doesn’t sound good with all the superstars in the falcons team. There has to be some chemistry created before this team can peak to the talents on its disposal. Waldrum has to stay back in Nigeria in a conducive atmosphere in other to create a dynamic recipe to achieve this goal because this arrival prior to tournaments and part time camp and friendlies in Yankee doesn’t seem enough. Stay in a country where you work in other to be effective this is the one truth that NFF has to know and apply….
Superstars don’t win you matches team do.
but superstars with team Chemistry now that is unstoppable It doesn’t really matter how much team chemistry you have if you don’t have some high profile players you will not be able to unlock some top defenses even with the perfect chemistry. Quality is very important in a team. Look at Man city, Real madrid Liverpool that is a Super star teams with team chemistry and that is what you call a well oiled machine!
WORD! My BROTHER GREENTURF…
If SUPERSTARS do WIN MATCHES, then TUNISIA B wouldn’t have BEATEN NIGERIA or even GHANA wouldn’t have QUALIFIED over us because we POSSESS alot of SUPERSTARS but finding it hard to PLAY as a TEAM..
That’s the Chemistry I’m talking about that is lacking in the team, and it must be addressed so that we can see the team play in Harmony and with flair even against Germany.
I also expect a good scorelines too but I don’t think it’s the superstars that procecute this matches, this particular picture, lots of the Starz were missing but nevertheless, we can do better and also the way team approach friendly cannot be compare to how they approach real matches.
Stay back in Nigeria and do what exactly?
ALL your best players ply their trades overseas. So what ‘conducive environment’ is he building for them here?
Nigeria, like most developing teams, have most, if not all their players in overseas clubs. It makes sense that coach watches them play in their clubs and assesses new players also.
The job of the NFF is to set up camps and the right training atmosphere for the girls. Besides, there are a ton of Nigerian coaches and hangers on with the team who are locally based. Let them earn their pay by supervising the setup prior to Waldrum coming.
Onyinyechi Zogg nko? Abi is she surplus to requirements?
She plays for Turbine Potsdam, one of the most successful German female sides, with 6 domestic titles and 2 UEFA Champions league titles.
If she’s not in the squad, there better be a good reason.
Meant to say “If she’s no longer in Waldrum’s plans”.
I accept that it’s tough to get an invite to this SF team, due to the intense competition.
However, for a player playing for Turbine Potsdam to be considered surplus to requirements for Nigeria is a bit odd, me thinks.
If it’s superior competition that is keeping her out, okey dokey.
Ah, Oga Pompei, you like fine girl no be small ooo lol. Hmmm. She’s injured and I don’t think she’s fully fit to make the squad.
But to my surprise, I think NFF have made their mind on Sunday Easter. That girl deserves some respect from NFF and the coaching crew.
After Oparanozie then Sunday Easter is the next but why coach Waldrum refused to call her? Well I didn’t know. She’s very tall and mult talented striker. She has all the qualities as a striker. She should be the one replacing Oparanozie.
Kai, but you sabi cute babe Oga Pompei lolz. Happy weekend to you my man. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Hahaha Omo9ja, you got me on that one.
Happy weekend brother.
By the way Omo9ja, I agree with you that we will miss Oparanozie.
However, Onumonu is quite capable of doing the job. That girl na deadly striker. Cool, calm finisher.
The Oshoala/Onumonu combo should be a bit too hot to handle for most defenses at the Afcon, and even beyond. Hopefully, they will deliver.
Most of the FALCON players are old and tired, I don’t know how the coach and technical crew keep re-inventing them to represent us, when there are younger and hungry players who can do the nation proud? If nothing is done to inject young players to this team, danger of embarrassing defeat is looming for this team. They may end up struggle with small playing nation to win game or lose games during forthcoming AWFCON
How can a bunch of professional players be struggling to play draw with amateur clubs? Can they really cope to match the well inspired, young, energetic and determined BAYANA BAYANA? This results are ominous signs that must be properly paid attention to.
If our old women no play well… south Africa go humble us.southy play with fluidity and pace…we are just rigid….kick and follow pattern.
How, we have few old players in the team now and if they are not performing well they will not be in the team. There’s a very strong competition in the team, so they most be at the top of their games before they can earn invitation. @pupertemmy, everybody in that team deserves starting shirt, look at the midfield/attack too packed.
