The Cameroonians will play very rough so Ucheibe must be in our line up as one of the strongest players in the Falcons pack.Rita and Ngozi should start from the bench…Starting Ucheibe , Ayinde, Peace in the the middle and playing Kanu, Ajibade and Ifeoma up front. Better still play 4 : 4 :2.I am not scared of the Lioness but let the younger energetic players make up the Super Falcons mix.
The paid coaches should know what to do.
Bros, Okobi is untouchable for now. Apart from her experience, which will come handy against Cameroon, she is about the fittest upfield player we have now. She provides that penetration, charisma and power. When Nigeria decides to, you can trust this lady to support the wingers and our strikers. While Halimatu Ayinde plays Nididi’s role, Okobi can be the Alex and Aribo put together. Who else do you think can ably replace these two ladies? Ucheibe can come in Rita, but not for Okobi.
@Papafem, you are very right , your observation is spot on . the team that played Botswana is very ok. If i would suggest any change, i will want UCHEIBE to replace RITA. UCHEIBE, AYINDE and OKOBI playing in the midfield will be great.
I’m with you on Okobi. She provides that creative spark from the midfield. And her fitness level is good, which allows her to roam the midfield and make telling contributions. As long as she keeps up this performance level, she’s likely to keep starting.
I am also impressed with Ucheibe. Ever since she came into the starting 11, our midfield has looked so much better. I like her willingness to shoot from distance. We need to see more of this from the others in the team.
I would go with a midfield trio of Okobi, Ayinde and Ucheibe. But as always, I defer to the coaches, who are right there with the ladies, and will hopefully select the players that can give Cameroon a good match.
I prefer a technical approach because of Cameroon’s physicality (moving the ball around quickly and precisely which is the Naija way) but due to our unsuitability to play that way, we’ll fight physical football with speed and direct counter attacking football which our younger players will provide because fighting Cameroon with physicality is not a good idea, they’re the masters of that style so we play to our strengths which is speed and creativity.if we target their CB’s who are less physical and a bit slow to react to balls in the half spaces we’ll win,we just need to be saavy on the ball.
