Australian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade could not hide his disappointment at not being selected for the Test side to face Sri Lanka. The wicketkeeper has not been included in the 13-man squad for the two-match series which starts on January 24, despite averaging 63 in domestic cricket. Following recent struggles for the baggy greens with the bat in their first ever home defeat to India, Wade has been overlooked, and he says it makes no sense.
Wade told SEN Radio: “It’s disappointing for me. It seems the criteria when (coach) Justin (Langer) took over was weight of runs, hundreds. “I feel like I’m ticking all those boxes and the reasons I’m not getting picked is I’m not batting in the top four. “It doesn’t really make a lot of sense.”
