Aston Villa have confirmed they have taken the option to sign Kortney Hause from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent basis. The 23-year-old becomes Villa’s third signing of the summer after the two Midlands clubs agreed a deal over the weekend.

Hause joined Villa on loan in January and he went on to make 12 appearances during the second half of the season. He helped the Villans secure promotion to the Premier League after stepping off the bench during the play-off final success over Derby County.
The former England U21 international follows Anwar El Ghazi and Wesley Moraes through the door at Villa Park and Wolves have now accepted an offer for the Goodmayes-born defender. In a statement, sporting director Kevin Thelwell said: “On behalf of everyone at Wolves I would like to thank Kortney for all of his efforts both on and off the pitch during the past five years.
“Kortney has been a tremendous servant to this club, providing a solid backbone to our defence in the Championship where he helped lay the foundations for Wolves’ rise to where we are today. “We wish Kortney the very best in all his future endeavours.”
