Midfielder Franco Vazquez says he could have moved to the Premier League last summer but had no interest in leaving Sevilla.
The Argentina international joined the Spaniards in 2016 from Italian outfit Palermo and has established himself as a key man at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
West Ham were heavily linked with the 29-year-old last summer while Vazquez was also linked with a Premier League move in January, and the Sevilla star has now confirmed he could have left ahead of the current campaign.
“I knew of the interest of other clubs like West Ham but since the coach [Pablo Machin] was counting on me, I decided to stay,” he told Estadio Deportivo. “My idea has always been to stay here – my wife and my family are already adapted to Seville.”
