Francis Uzoho is pleased to have been handed an opportunity to feature for the Super Eagles again after he was named in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations in Egypt, reports Completesports.com.
Uzoho’s inactivity for Anorthosis Famagusta, coupled with his howler in Nigeria’s last AFCON 2019 qualifying match against Seychelles in Asaba somewhat reduced his popularity ahead of the final tournament in Egypt.
Odion Ighalo put the Super Eagles ahead from the spot in the 33rd minute, but Melaine Rody profited from Uzoho’s blunder four minutes before the break to equalise for the visitors.
But having been included in the provisional list ahead of the AFCON 2019 finals, Uzoho hopes to redeem his image when he gets the chance to feature at the tournament
“Another privilege to represent my country. Hope I get the opportunity to make you’ll proud. In Christ Alone,” Uzoho wrote on his Instagram status page on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old who has kept four clean sheets in 13 games for the Super Eagles since he made his debut as a second-half substitute for Nigeria in their 4-2 win over Argentina in November 2017, also thanks his former team Elche for handing him an opportunity to play during the first half of the season.
Uzoho made nine appearances for Elche in the Segunda division conceding 11 goals and keeping four clean sheets.
“In the midst of my challenges this season, yet I still find reasons to smile that it wasn’t all failures. Thank you @elchecfoficial for giving me the opportunity,” Uzoho wrote beneath his video in action for Elche.

You’d better sit up othwrwise you’ll be shown the door. Can’t be making elementary mistakes at this level, bra.
What kind of elementary mistakes? You will soon see secondary school mistakes.
Uzoho is the best goalkeeper in Africa.
Egyptians, Cameroonians, Ghanaians and Senegalese all wish they can have someone like him.
What are you talking?
This is a joke i guess ?
Very big joke,I believe…best in Africa?????? Lol
Who is better?
Your Godfather is really strong.
pleaz we don’t want such a mistake again in Afcon. what I like in uzoho he s very calm in goal and you will not see any form of fear in his face than the two others keepers they are shaking too much with a lot of fear in their face Akpeyi and Ezenwa. this guy is little bit good bkoz of his calmness. and none of them is also good on penalty save. Oh my God how can we do to win this Afcon.
i will give you an advice to be very good you are ours goalkeepers so after training group in your room try to watch the video of the great keepers like neuer, ter Stegen, de gea, oblake so inspire yourself in one of them how they go out, how they are calm in one on one, how they are doing in set pieces, free kicks in penalty. put all your body in one on one like de gea and Stegen and pleaz train well on penalty save it might arrive if we want to go far. I’m saying all of these bkoz we don’t trust too much in our keepers. Prove us wrong pleazzz
You are doing okay as a young goalkeeper no doubt but you shouldn’t be a full time goalkeeper for this year Afcon if coach Rohr knows his job too well.
Uzoho is for the future. This Uzoho will be a fantastic goalie but it’s a matter of time but 15 to 20 minutes is the best for Uzoho in Egypt this year Afcon to build this goalie as a rock.
As I’m about to do my analysis on coach Rohr’s team, here are my views.
We don’t have good goalkeepers? Do we?
We don’t have a player who can take our set pieces. Do we?
Who will be in charge of our penalty kicks? Ighalo alone right?
Uzoho needs to understudy Ezenwa. Ezenwa should be the no1 goalie in Egypt for this year Afcon. Do we have players who can do what I just mentioned? I don’t think so. All you are going to see in camp sooner or later is Akpeyi. Hmmm, I’m really sorry for my darling Super Eagles team. Oh well, truth is hurt o, Chai.
As a good coach, these are the qualities you most build your team on. Therefore, if I do not see real Eagle in Egypt, I won’t be surprised because the coach in charge of the team have no ideas on how to do his work in a simplest form.
I am stoping here for now because I still have a lot to say about the Super Eagles squad. Most especially, goalkeeping department. I am not satisfied at all.
Osigwe did not make the list, why? Why the coach refused to strengthen the goalkeeping department? Why no more competition in the team? This is the best time to ask questions and I’m going to do so. All in all, over to you CSN. God bless Nigeria!!!
Tell them jare. Ambruse Vanzekin is there. Even Chidozie Agbim is still active.
Let’s not full ourselves, we have better goalkeepers than we are led to believe.
SMA (shaking my ass)
Thank you bro. I can’t do this alone. We all have to come out in numbers to do it together because they won’t listen lol. NFF, coach Rohr and his fans, they won’t listen o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Yes o. The coach should listen to us more often.
We are the champions, my friend.
We will keep on telling the truth until the end.
