American Ben Shelton made a slight walk of Dominic Thiem in the Third Round of the US Open after the Australian tennis star retires due to stomach related issue.
Shelton, ranked No 47, led 7-6 (1), 1-0 when Thiem, ranked No 81, pulled out of the match.
The Austrian had vomited prior to the match, and was showing signs of discomfort between ends, having spoken with the physio already.
The 20-year-old American will face Russian Aslan Karatsev next, who blasted his way past Carballes Baena with 83 winners earlier today.
In the previous round of the US Open, Ben Shelton edged out Argentinian Pedro Cachin (1-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4). Thiem, on the other hand, won against Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 25 seed (6-3, 6-2, 6-4) in the first round of the Flushing Meadows tournament.
