Former Kwara United coach, Samson Unuanel, says he’s optimistic the Home-Based Eagles will overcome the Black Galaxies of Ghana in the second leg and qualify for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The Super Eagles Team B held their own and forced Ghana Galaxies to a goalless draw in the first leg of the qualifying playoff round for the 2025 African Championships at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening.
The result was the first time in the history of the qualifying tournament that the Nigerian team would come out of Ghana unbeaten.
The home-based Eagles need an outright victory to pick the 2025 CHAN ticket at the expense of their bitter rivals, Ghana, when they file out in the second leg of the qualifier on Saturday in Uyo.

Speaking with Completesports.com, Unuanel stated that Nigeria will get the job done at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
“I have always been optimistic that the Home-Based Eagles will qualify for the 2025 CHAN, and I am still standing on it.
They showed great determination and hunger in the first leg against Ghana in Accra, and I am sure they will give another solid performance that will ensure the team qualifies for the tournament.
“Ghana has nowhere to hide because it will be victory for the Home-Based Eagles at the end.”
The 8th African Nations Championship will be hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda from February 1st to 28th, 2025.
