Manchester United will be without suspended duo Luke Shaw and Ashley Young for Saturday’s Premier League home clash with West Ham.
Shaw begins a two-match domestic ban after accumulating his 10th yellow card of the season against Wolves in United’s last top-flight fixture, while fellow full-back Young is also unavailable after being sent off in that match.
Antonio Valencia remains on the treatment table due to a muscle issue, while Matteo Darmian will only be fit enough for a place on the bench, so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has limited options in the full-back positions.
Indeed, the Norwegian has confirmed he may have to play central defender Phil Jones at right-back, while Marcos Rojo could also make a rare appearance. “We don’t have full-backs this week,” Solskjaer told the United website. “Not too many as we’ve lost Luke and Ashley through suspension.

Antonio is still not fit. Maybe Matteo will be available for the bench and Rojo has been training for a while. “He’s available and we’ve got Jonah [Phil Jones], who could also play there.” United also have fitness issues in other areas as midfielder Ander Herrera remains sidelined with a muscle issue, while Nemanja Matic is rated 50/50 due to illness.
Alexis Sanchez has returned to training this week following a knee injury but Saturday’s match will come too soon for the Chilean.
