Manchester United are keen to tie goalkeeper David de Gea down to fresh terms and have reportedly offered an improved deal. The Spain international’s current deal is set to expire at the end of 2019-20 and he could negotiate a move for free with an overseas club in January.

Real Madrid’s interest in the stopper has been clear for the past few years and the opportunity to get one of the best in the world would likely spark them into action. United initially started negotiations with De Gea last season but his demands meant the two parties were unable to agree a deal.
But after gaining a long-term commitment from Marcus Rashford earlier this week, it appears they are now ready to put their full focus on De Gea. Rashford penned a four-year contract worth £200,000-per-week and De Gea will be looking to sign similar terms.
