Victor Osimhen scored a late equaliser but Napoli were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League after going down 2-1 on aggregate to AC Milan.
The quarter-final second leg tie ended in a 1-1 draw.
Olivier Giroud missed a penalty just after the hour mark.
The Frenchman however gave the visitors the lead late in the first half.
Rafael Leao went on a superb solo run from the edge of his own box to the penalty area, before squaring to Giroud to tap home a simple finish.
Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia missed from the spot with ten minutes to go,
Osimhen then nodded home deep into stoppage time to equalise for Napoli.

Is ok just face league and ensure it didn’t slip away.
They were out here trying to play hero ball. Players taking on things on their own. I so no coordination and they didnt even try to pass it to Osimhen. This was an easy route the the champions league final and they blew it. It wasn’t by luck ac milan beat them 2 times. Also Anguissa was out for this one too. At least they got the serie a title in their hands. This was a terrible game to watch
I can’t agree more with you!

Csn if you guys delete my comment again there will serous problem.
What is wrong with Osimhen tsking the orbalties at Napoli? How csn a player score over 20 goals in the season and not be allowed to be the club’s No.1 penalty taker?
Why does Palletti not let Victor Osimhen take the penalties?
Spaghetti has himself to blame on this one coupled with the absenbce of key players like Anguissa and the lose of two crucial players in the first half……The culprit for Napoli for sure is Kvaratskhelia…..I have never seen such a selfish fool in a champions league Q final…. How can you play like that in such a crucial game….Somehow Karma deals with players that quickly grab the ball to play penalties lol it’s never a good sign.
Spalletti*
The guy is not a team player. The last thing on his mind is to pass the ball to Osimhen. He wants to dribble and score and surprisingly the coach thinks that’s cool
Kwara, or guara or kvara whatever he is called, is a selfish player, he plays with envy and jealousy. Such a player can not win with those with team spirit. God bless Osimhen.
Where is AKP?? I told you football is not by emotions. Napoli has been doing great over the last 5 years and they will be rewarded with a first Scudetto since Maradona. When it comes to the champions league AC Milan is football heritage.
Present sir….so sad that osimhen our brother is out of the UCL but am happy he got on the score sheet if not Tomori and that his fellow kwashiorkor defenders will be all over the place now boasting about how they stopped osimhen…..I think osimhen should find his way out of Napoli now that he has distinguish himself…..A new adventure is ready for him elsewhere…. Osimhen has never stayed beyond 3 seasons in a club since he arrived in Europe and he should not allow Napoli’s greed stop that trend…..#moveosimhen
This is the problem with a talented player who loses the big picture.
A talented player who dribbles and uses his other talents to help the team is very valuable. But a player who is dribbling himself, his opponents, his team mates, even his destiny? Dribbling up and down, no end product, no purpose, no positive contribution? Wanting to score all by himself, like Egbon Insigne?
With the exit of Insigne, we breathed a huge sigh of relief. Good riddance. But a new problem seems to be emerging in the person of Gwara Gwara, abi wetin be em name?
This boy was doing well before, combining well with Osimhen and others. But now, after they doubled his salary, na another thing we dey see. Gwara Gwara is now on an unending dribbling expedition!
Gwara Gwara dey there dey dribble up and down. Now he has dribbled himself out of the Champion’s League.
LOL… no be only gwara gwara, the guy add “pilolo” join. But you’re on point by the way!
🙂 🙂 🙂
i knew from the beginning that Napoli was going to faulter at the crusher stage of champions league because of indiscipline in their style of play, Osimhen did not get any clear pass from his teamates throughout the first half and you want to win? If they had sent a great number of their passes and crosses to Osimhen they could have won the match . Besides, spalleti does not show enough respect for Osimhen you cannot have a player in such a devastating form in your team yet you don’t allow him to take penalties. what a shame
Please stop scapegoating the guy. You all need to go back and watch the match and tell us who he would cross to. Oshimen was doubled team through out the watch. So was kvaratskshella was also doubled team. Please analyze the game properly. What are the chances oshimen would score or any other player. Didn’t Giroud lose his also. Napoli was distablized from the injury they had in the first half. They tried there best is all i can say
That’s absolutely the fact, he’s not been blamed without a genuine reason. That guy Kvara has been full of himself with zero respect for opponent. Like who does that everytime trying to take players on.
Even Ronaldinho & Okocha the best dribbles knows when to release the ball. In this case am not talking about him finding Osimhen alone but in general his selfish play jeopardize the team performance & knocked them out.
What about him playing 1-2 with his closer teammates or changing the direction of the ball with a long cross to the other side of the pitch where Di Lorenzo is very good controling the ball and sending in a decent cross into the box since he’s been close down immediately he has the balls.
Reason why the English don’t believe in dribbling because what you will achieve with a single pass sometimes dribbling can’t even come close. No square play nothing. He had like 2 different chance to pass to Osimhen in the box for quick tap in but no, he wanted to do it all alone
Kvara is the player to blame certainly….he had the highest turnover in him team…..he lost the highest take on’s……he had the highest blocked shot…..he had a joint high penalty miss with Giroud….Apart from Giroud Origi and osimhen he had the lowest key passes in the game…… statistics don’t lie my dear friend.
But given what he has done this season he is forgiven…..kvara still remains the revelation of the season…..and let’s not forget he is just 21years old and he has a lot of room to even get better.
When some players decides to hold on to the ball àt all cost this is the repercussion.
Probably they forgot wat is at stake.
And when they crossed the ball they place it at difficult angle.and their shot are never near the pole or at the keeper.i hope there isn’t a sell out yesterday.
Hello beauties. Loving the comments here from you all. Osihmen was not good enough yesterday. He failed.
Love you all. Xxx
I didn’t watch the match but I surely believe is there no 77 that spoil d match with greediness
When a player does well, he gets deserved praise. But when the reverse is the case, criticism will happen. It’s not a witch hunt. It’s the game. A semi finals slot in a competition as prestigious as the Champions League was up for grabs. When you have chances and fail to take them, your opponent benefits.
This game could have gone Napoli’s way.
Kvara had several opportunities to set other players up with chances, but his poor decision making has now contributed largely to Napoli’s exit. Forget about the penalty. Anybody can miss a penalty. It’s Kvara’s failure to make passes at critical moments that cost the team even more.
Yes, he had a bad day at the office. It can happen, and does happen. But the opportunity to play in a CL semifinal does not come everyday. He’s a young lad, and will hopefully learn and grow from this.
Go to BBC Sports and some Italian sports press and you’ll see how they’re trying to make the Kvaratskhelia, and not Osimhen, the hero of Napoli resurgence in the Champions League and Serie A hunt. He obviously wanted to justify that unfair bias, rooted in racism, by grabbing the headline while Osimhen was on the field. Envy took over him and he was obsessed with trying to outshine Osimhen when 1 or 2 simple pass to Osimhen would have wrapped up the game for Osimhen. Is he even the designated penalty taker?
I used to think Osomhen shouldn’t be ina hurry to leave Napoli. But after yesterday’s game, I think he should accelerate that move in the next window. I just have my doubts about Bayern, seeing how they treated another African brother, Mane and completely exonerated their German player, Sane. Man U has never been good for African players’ development either. Show me one. Africans shine more at Liverpool or Chelsea.
