Super Eagles midfield star Raphael Onyedika helped Club Brugge overcome Atalanta 2-1 in the Champions League play-offs first leg.
Onyedika played for 90 minutes while Ademola Lookman was not in action because of injury.
The game was heading for a 1-1 draw before substitute Gustaf Nilsson scored a 94th minute penalty.
Ferran Jutgla had given Club Brugge the lead in the 15th minute but Mario Pasalic equalised for Sergio Conceição’s men four minutes before the end of the first half.
Also, Samuel Chukwueze featured for AC Milan who lost 1-0 at Feyenoord in their first leg tie.
The winger came on in the 60th minute but could not affect the outcome of the tie.
Igor Paixao scored the only goal of the game just three minutes into the encounter.
The seven-time Champions League winners would hope to turn things around when they host Feyenoord in the second leg at the San Siro next week Tuesday.
In the other play-off matches, Bayern Munich beat Celtic 2-1 in Scotland and Benfica recorded a 1-0 win against AS Monaco.
