Former Manchester United striker Terry Gibson has slammed VAR after a dangerous tackle by Juventus midfield Adrien Rabiot on Samuel Chukwueze only attracted a yellow card.
Rabiot was fortunate to avoid a red card just moments after his error allowed Villarreal to equalize, in Tuesday’s Champions League round of 16 first leg tie in Spain which ended 1-1.
The French midfielder was responsible for the goal, as he was caught ball-watching and allowed Dani Parejo to make the run behind him, volleying in the Capoue ball over the top completely undisturbed.

A few minutes after that howler, Rabiot was very lucky that VAR did not intervene to suggest upgrading his yellow card to a red, as he raked his studs down the knee of Chukwueze.
Juventus fans vented their rage on social media, some even suggesting he should be sold during the match without waiting for the final whistle.
Others pointed out Juve were unlucky that Rabiot wasn’t sent off, as it might’ve improved the team’s overall performance.
And reacting to the United incident Gibson, who played for United from 1986 to 1987, wrote on Twitter:“Tackles, & I use that term loosely like Rabiot’s on Chukwueze which go unpunished make you lose faith in VAR. Incredible!“
Luckily, Chukwueze continued the match before he was replaced in the 90th minute.

Thank God Chukwueze didnt get injured oh..
Rabiot is a disgrace to football. No way anyone can convince he wasn’t intentional with that horrible tackle
Super Eagles players in Europe have 5 or 6 more competitive games before the showdown against Ghana. Injuries cannot be ruled out. That applies to the Black Stars as well!!!
Super Eagle players have played more than 5 matches since when they returned from afcon and none of them had been injured. Same God that has been protecting them since the returned from afcon is still on the throne and will keep on protecting them.
Be positive minded Amadi.
God bless Nigeria.
