U-23 AFCON Qualifiers: Nigeria Route
First Round
Tanzania vs South Sudan Winner meets Nigeria at second round
Second Round
Tanzania/South Sudan VS NIGERIA
Third Round
Winner of Second Round (Possibly) Nigeria vs Guinea/Uganda
Winner of third round qualify for AFCON U-23. AFCON U-23 is also used to qualify for the Olympics. The semifinalists qualify for the Olympics.
You are so right. The semi finalists qualify for the Olympics.
Great! I hope this format puts an end to the useless and criminal WAFU Zone B nonsense.
There’s no easy draw o. Togo stopped us from participating in the last edition. Sudan had once stopped Osimhen and the likes from going to the WYC. And from time immemorial, our encounters with Uganda has been very tough at the u-23 level. With Coach Okagbue in charge at a time, we almost lost the ticket to Uganda. Besides, most countries who don’t have many players playing abroad usually have their best players playing at home. And in these countries, a lot of their home based players, who are seasoned national team players, fall under the age of 23. Reason Nigeria usually struggle when our foreign based players are not involved in the qualifying series for either the Olympics or U-23 AFCON. So we should be weary of the Tanzanians, South Sudanese and the Ugandans. They may be bringing their national teams and not necessarily the u23 we are expecting.
You are so right. Nigeria will not find it easy.
Uganda won’t be easy!
What about Ghana? Can they make it? They are used to defeat. It’s their second name
U wil soon realize wat is good for the egles is also good for ugandans.national team
In other words u 23 eagles wil be playing against national team
Its not easy, each country are preparing, and there are no push overs
