Isah Ladan Bosso, Head Coach of Nigeria’s U20 boys, has invited 35 players to resume camping in Abuja on Monday as preparations for this year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations begins in earnest.
Goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu, who is also number one choice for the Olympic Eagles, is at the top of the roster alongside midfielder Daniel Daga and forward Promise Bernard. Training sessions will commence on Monday as Bosso looks to pick his final squad for the tournament that also serves as the qualifying tournament for this year’s FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Indonesia.
There are also goalkeeper Chijioke Anigboso, defenders Benjamin Frederick, Nathaniel Tambe and Hassan Shaibu, midfielders Ibrahim Yahaya and Muhammad Aminu, and forwards Adams Olalekan and Ayuba Francis.

All four semi-finalists at the championship will fly Africa’s flag at this year’s FIFA U20 World Cup.

Good luck to the Flying Eagles as they resume training ahead of the U-20 Afcon in a few weeks’ time.
The task is daunting but success is conceivable.
Egypt, Senegal and Mozambique should previde stern challenges for the Flying Eagles but these are wholly surmountable.
I had hoped to see the unstoppable Wisdom Ubani in this list following rumours of his possible inclusion from a notorious media outlet. But it did not materialise, at least not yet.
Ubani is such a flair striker who sniffs opportunities in opposition 18 yard box to pounce like a lurking predator. I pray he either plays a part with this Flying Eagles at some point or with the Under-23 when they resume pre-Olympics Afcon qualifiers.
Good luck to the Flying Eagles.
Wisdom Ubani and other invited European based professionals will join their local based counterparts a week on Monday according to press.
What happened to Dominion Ohaka?
He was hacked from the squad.
Well, hope his being “hacked” is justified. I saw him against Costa Rica, and was excited that he was part of the U-20 team.
According to reports on a media outlet, I think he has been returned to the domain of the team and he should resume training with them
Lies
He’s my lil bro I hope he’s still available for u20
Do these weird names of football clubs listed against players exist in Nigeria? Where are the 10 foreign-based players Bosso boasted of inviting? Hopefully the whole thing is not s hoax!!
It is heartwarming for me that Ladan Bosso casted his scouting net far and wide to capture ‘raw’ talents up and down the land. A cursory check on the Internet for some of those random clubs like Mailantarki FC will reveal them to be real clubs further down the lower trenches of Nigerian football league pyramid.
To be honest, I would have been worried if all the players had been drawn from the Nigeria Professional Football League as we all know that many of the league players are already overcooked.
Good luck to Bosso and the boys who make the final cut.
@ deo, I totally agree. Most of the truly young players are in the lower leagues and non-league football teams.
Let’s be honest with ourselves, very few players under the age of 20 play in the NPFL.
I thought their was defender from enyimba in the squad, I think he was the captain at wafu competion adegbite, he is not here
What about Daga?
