World football governing body FIFA jas hailed Faridat Abdulwahab for her wonder strike in Flamingos’ win against New Zealand.
The Flamingos kicked off their 2024 FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup Group A campaign with a dominant 4-1 win against the Oceanian side.
Abdulwahab got Nigeria’s second goal in the first half with a brilliant volley from a corner.
She curled the low cross into the far corner beyond the outstretched hands of the goalkeeper.
The wonder strike is surely a contender for Goal of the Tournament at this year’s U-17 women’s World Cup.
Commenting on the goal, FIFA wrote:”A fine finish from Faridat Abdulwahab.”
Meanwhile, the Flamingos Will be back in action on Saturday when they will take on debutant Ecuador.
The Ecuadorians began their campaign with a 2-0 win against hosts Dominican Republic.
