A brace from Shakirat Moshood and goals each by Peace Effiong and Chidera Chidi, earned Nigeria’s Flamingos a comfortable 4-0 win against debutants Ecuador in their second Group A game at the FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup on Saturday.

It is now back-to-back wins for the Flamingos, who opened their campaign with a 4-1 win against New Zealand.

The win place the Flamingos top of Group A on six points after two games.

Moshood opened the scoring in the 28th minute after converting from the penalty spot.

In the 54th minute Chidi made it 2-0 as she hit a low left-foot strike beyond the reach of the Ecuadorian keeper.

Effiong then made it 3-0 on 66 minutes after pouncing on a poor clearance by the Ecuadorians keeper and slotted into an empty net.

Moshood then got her second of the game in six minutes of added time with a superb left foot strike off a cutback.

The Flamingos’ next game comes up on Wednesday, October 23 against hosts Dominican Republic.
