U-17 WWC: Chidi Wins POTM In Flamingos’ Win Over Ecuador

Forward Harmony Chidi was named Player of the Match following Nigeria’s Flamingos victory over Ecuador on Saturday night.

The Flamingos secured a place in the quarter-finals following a comprehensive 4-0 victory over the South Americans.

Chidi, who was the team’s top scorer in the qualifiers with 12 goals, scored a goal and provided an assist in the game.

The striker scored her first goal of the tournament with a powerful strike on 54 minutes.

The youngster then set up Shakirat Moshood’s second goal of the day in stoppage time.

It would be recalled that captain Taiwo Afolabi won the Player of the Match in Nigeria’s first game against New Zealand.

The Flamingos will take on hosts Dominican Republic in their last group game on Tuesday night.

    I find it weird that FIFA study committee will choose Chidi. But for me Moshood deserves this award for her overall contribution.
