Interesting! Under 17’s can be quite unpredictable.Another thing of note is the level of Afcon which is copiously higher than the zonal regions.
So might not be business as usual, our boys need to come out smoking and play every game like it’s a cup final.
I trust the golden eaglets to pick a ticket but from the look of things it won’t be a stroll in the park.
That was a great match by both teams yesterday. Nigerian side had a better first half but lacked cutting edge in the final third. 2ndhalf saw the young Chipolpolo gave the Nigerian side run for their money with the Zambian coach making critical changes to overcome the tired looking and exhausted while Ugbade stubbornly stuck to his game tactics, refusing to make changes but rather resulted to vain screaming and backing of instructions wit his back room team of coaches in Yoruba. Fortunes smiled on the young Eagles in the 76mins when young Zambian, after all evening water tight defensive solidity fell like a pack of cards to the Eaglets’relentless attack onslaught even in the face of fatigue. Favour Daniel fired a shot to the far right corner after a loose ball fell on his part from arm ball in the 18 yards box.
Ugbade introduced 19 shirt Light Eke shortly after the deadlock was broken. His combination with the captain resulted in a penalty when the latter was brought down in the box following a counter attack. The resultant penalty kick was saved by the young goalie from Light Eke low drive.
The young Chipolopolo relentlessly mounted pressure on the Nigerian side in a bid to draw parity. The agility of the Eaglet’s goalkeeper and the resilience of the defenders kept the opponent at bay.
Ugbade really needs to improve his tactical changes as and when due.
