Turkey Fantasy — Tips for Gameweek 18
We’re reaching the halfway point in the Süper Lig and the usual suspects are starting to climb to the top of the leaderboard. Check out our in-form prospects for this gameweek!
Below you’ll find the crème de la crème of this week’s fantasy studs, provided to you by the masterminds behind Fantezi Futbol Türkiye.
Flash Players
Mbaye Diagne (Galatasaray, Forward)
During Radamel Falcao’s never-ending injury story, Mbaye Diagne played as the striker of Galatasaray and scored 8 goals. We can understand how he is increasing his form considering that he scored these 8 goals in his last 6 games. Diagne also takes the ball in penalty-kicks and he has scored 4 out of 4 this season so far. Considering that Falcao will be missing for further more games, Diagne is a suitable pick against Gençlerbirliği.
Key Stats (per game): Shots: 2.4 / Key Passes: 0.6
Fredrik Gulbrandsen (Başakşehir, Forward)
Fredrik Gulbrandsen’s last season performance of 3 goals and 1 assist was really disappointing for Istanbul Başakşehir fans. However, Norwegian made a very good start this season. He has played in 19 official games so far this season and scored 9 goals. Gulbrandsen’s performance has been also very effective since he scored one goal per 82 minutes. We expect him to be in starting eleven due to the injury of Demba Ba and below par performances of Crivelli. Considering that this week’s opponent Ankaragücü has a lot of missing players in defense side, this game seems an opportunity for Gulbrandsen.
Key Stats (per game): Shots: 1.6 / Key Passes: 0.3
Cyle Larin (Beşiktaş, Forward)
Beşiktaş is topping the table with 34 points in 16 games. They are also the most goal-scoring team with 37 goals this season. They haven’t conceded a goal in last 5 games. Cyle Larin is the current top goalscorer of Turkish Süper Lig as a result of all these positive stats. His below par performances in consecutive two years with Beşiktaş made him to be loaned to play for Belgian team Zulte Waregem last year. After his good perfomance (9 goals and 11 assists in 33 games) with Zulte Waregem last season, Beşiktaş decided to keep him in this year’s squad. After Aboubakar’s transfer, he started to play as left-winger who also supports Aboubakar as a second striker during the games. He has scored 10 goals and made 2 assists so far. We expect him to pursue his good performance against Hatayspor.
Key Stats (per game): Shots: 1.9 / Key Passes: 0.6
Dimitrios Pelkas (Fenerbahçe, Midfielder)
As a result of his pre-season performances in Champions League elimination rounds with PAOK, Pelkas joined Fenerbahçe with a last minute signing. He has increased his performance significantly in last two games after starting to play in his ideal position as no. 10. Fenerbahçe will play against Erzurumspor on away this week. Considering Fenerbahçe’s successful performance on away games, Pelkas again could be a suitable pick for this week.
Key Stats (per game): Shots: 2.4 / Key Passes: 1.1
Surprise Pick
Jure Balkovec (Fatih Karagümrük, Defender)
Fatih Karagümrük lost their last 4 games. Although their bad performance in last two games, Balkovec scored one goal against both Trabzonspor and Antalyaspor. After his last two games’s performance, all fantasy football fans paid attention on him. Slovenian defender takes the ball in corners and free-kicks. So he is a very suitable defender to be picked in fantasy football game. Karagümrük needs an immediate win against Konyaspor and Balkovec might pursue his good form against Konyaspor.
Key Stats (per game): Crosses: 0.9 / Shots: 0.8 / Key Passes: 0.8
Recommended Teams for Player Picks
Fenerbahçe
Fenerbahçe has a very deep squad. Their substitutes have such quality that being a starting eleven players in other teams. They got rid of injury and illlness problems recently. So, Fenerbahçe players are very suitable to be picked this week against Erzurumspor.
Başakşehir
They are the most valuable (83,5 million Euros) squad in terms of player values in Turkish Süper Lig. They need a winning streak to catch the teams at the top in order to pursue their chances for the title. Their opponent Ankaragücü has important missing defenders this week. Edin Visca, Fredrik Gulbrandsen, İrfan Can Kahveci and Rafael might be suitable picks for this week.
