With three more years on his contract at Dortmund, the 24-year-old still has dreams of making himself a regular for the Bundesliga giants. “Of course I am disappointed that I never got a chance,” Toljan said. “But the team played very strong and was extremely successful.
It was also clear to me that Achraf Hakimi would first get his chance in front of me – which he then used. “The coach always gave me courage again and again. He told me that I was not written off with him but must continue to wait for my chance. “Next summer I still have three years on my contract with Dortmund. So I expect to play for Dortmund again. I will take the situation as it is and will try to get back in the team.”
